Joss is an absolute champ!

The two of us have really gotten the hang of nursing, and 90% of the time she has been really easy to go to sleep. For the most part we can just swaddle her and put her in the bassinet partly awake and she’ll be asleep in about 5 minutes. Of course she’s a newborn and we’re only a week in… But we’re still going to take that as a good sign!

She was 7 lb 4 oz when she was born (Sat 1/30) and when we left the hospital on Mon 2/1 she was 6lb 12 oz. It’s totally normal for newborns to lose weight after they are born, and she was completely in the safe range. By the time we went to her first pediatrician appointment on Wed 1/30 she had already gained back weight, and was 7lb 1oz! This is a great sign that nursing has been a success so far.

We are very much looking forward to watching our daughter continue to grow!
